Dear Mr. Ringwald:

Per your request, I have completed the attached user survey regarding the remodeling/reconstruction of the Education Building of the Coronado Unit, ASPC-Winslow.

In addition to the survey, I would like to share some comments with you.  I have been an employee of ADC for over twenty-five years, and consequently have been involved in many construction projects.  All things considered, this project, once started, was as smooth and professional as any I´ve been involved in.  I believe that the credit for this professionalism should go to three different areas:

The ADOA construction manager: Steve Varnell was extremely patient, helpful and professional through the entire project.  He was accessible and prompt, and very easy to work with.

The General Contractor: Flagstaff Design and Construction was an excellent general.  Problems were minimized, the general was always available to resolve problems, there were no “construction surprises”, and materials and workers arrived as scheduled.

The on-site foreman: Dave Babcock, FDC´s onsite manager/foreman, was excellent to work with.  Dave was extremely dependable, reachable and amazingly patient.  Any construction activity that occurs on prison ground brings a host of problems including clearances, deliveries, access, etc.  Even through certain trades, such as drywallers, painters and masons are difficult to clear, Dave was persistent, and the project was completed well, in a timely manner.

I am pleased with how well the construction phase of this project went.  I believe that the persons noted above should all be commended for their professionalism on this project.
